Mom visits

My mom came to visit this morning and the students were really excited. They were confused at first about how we could both be called "Miss" Roberts. She showed them pictures of "Betsy's" family and they were all like WHAAAT!!! They hadn't heard my first name before. :)

My principal surprise checked lesson plans today. I'm a little nervous. I haven't been using the PLT to say the least. I guess I'll find out in the faculty meeting tomorrow...

I am really loving Myrtle (our classroom pet turtle). I think I want a turtle in every classroom. He doesn't move that much and doesn't make noise, but he's cool to look at every once in a while and it's just cool that we have him.

One of the first graders comes to my room for Math and every day she raises her hand, I call on her, and she asks me if she can hug me. Or she says "I love you." :) 

We were doing positive points and someone pointed out someone else, and the person who got pointed out said "Thank you pimp!" Wow. He did not participate in the rest of the activity.

Costume party

I have started this blog to try and capture some of the moments of my first year of teaching! Yesterday we had indoor recess and a little bit of a costume party with Kevin's costumes from all his sorority parties. They loved it!!!
